Hello and good afternoon! It's so freaking icy out there that we didn't venture out for church this morning. That really bugs me! Feels like we haven't been able to go to church consistently for weeks and it's hard to not be "fed" each week. Next weekend I'll miss again due to the scrapbook retreat, so I'll just need to spend more time in the Word all on my own :)
Erk and I ended up heading outta town for the night Friday night thru yesterday evening. We went to Chicago! That's where we were supposed to go for our honeymoon, but never made it (due to a huge snowstorm that made it so our train trip was cancelled). So TEN years later, yep, we just celebrated our 10th anniversary, we made it afterall. We had a great time relaxing, eating out, watching Law and Order (3 times in a row) and ordering dessert via room service! Yesterday we met up with Meg and Tony at a pizza place not far from our hotel and enjoyed some deep dish pizza. We had many laughs and a nice time. Then headed back to our hotel to get the truck and drove to Meg's place. Got to meet Tony's grandparents and get a tour of their casa. It was great to see Megoo and visit for a while :) Then we headed on home and ended up missing our highway exit, went about an hour outta the way, but made it home eventually! We stopped at a Wendy's and ate (even shared a Frosty to dip our fries in, the ONLY way to go) and picked up the kids from Nanny and Papa's and towards home for bed. It was good to be home and Bean was especially glad we were. Thanks to Nanny and Papa for watching the kids for us and letting Bean out, also to Grampa for letting Bean out too! We really appreciate the help. We hope you are feeling better Granny! We thought about you a lot.
So now the 3 kids are laying down for a (hopeful) Sunday nap and I'm gonna get caught up on email and all. Erk is getting things cleaned up today - we took our Christmas tree out and that is always a big vacuum job afterwards! But the family room seems big again and the house feels cleaner. I bet we'll be finding needles for the next year, but that's alright.
Have a good one all!
